Goodness, I did not mean for this to be a monthly blog but apparently it is what it is, thanks be to God :).
Clarence found a WONDERFUL home w/Terry, Bob and their Beagle girl, Baby. See how well Rusty fka Clarence and Baby are doing? Photo to right. Thanks, Terry and Bob; and thanks to Caitlyn and Dr. Ann at LaCroix Pet Hospital for telling Terry about Clarence.
Silverwalk has welcomed two health challenged senior dogs.
- Oxford is a foster from Marion Animal Shelter in Marion, AR; the same wonderful people who sent me Fred, Ginger, Lilah (still here and needing a home!) and Scout (the same!). Oxford is a senior tri-color neutered male, up to date on shots, etc. who is being treated for a skin allergic reaction plus yeast. He is NOT contagious unless you count his perpetual grin and whipping, wagging tail. Photos coming soon!
- Sweetie was rescued from the Jefferson County Animal Control by a group of vigilant dog lovers. She has a hernia, may or may not be spayed, has horrible teeth and the worst case of heart worm with which I have ever dealt :(. Most dogs I would keep comfortable but you need to meet Sweetie and you will understand why we are very carefully pulling out all the stops to save her. She very much needs a fairy dogmother as her total cost of treatments will be over $1000.00, about twice my original estimate! Look at this face and say "no." I couldn't.
Silverwalk Hounds has a new address for those important donations: P.O. Box 1287, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702. Thank you so much!
Please keep us in your prayers as well as those who put themselves in harm's way for our protection. Hopefully, I will write again in less than a month!
